The Last of 2024 ... #MUSEOFRI Says Thank You!
As we count down to the year’s end, here are the last events.
The MUSE Foundation of Rhode Island celebrated its third anniversary in 2024, achieving many milestones. The foundation looks forward to continued growth and impact in 2025.
In 2024, we celebrated our third anniversary and achieved several significant milestones to date. Our RI Black Philanthropy Month and Black Policy Month RI initiatives, successfully campaigned to establish Juneteenth as a paid state holiday in Rhode Island. Additionally, we established social enterprise ventures in producing events, cannabis partnership and policy advocacy, established our endowment fund, and hosted the first Taste of Juneteenth New England event as part of a bigger black economic strategy.
This year also marked the 25th anniversary of our founder, Juan Wilson Jr.’s, grassroots philanthropic endeavors. He is participating in his 25th annual toy drive campaign, celebrates his tenth year in the nonprofit sector, and will host his tenth annual BEST In BLACK themed Awards. Furthermore, we will recognize our third annual MUSEOFRI Community Awards and celebrate his 50th birthday all in December 2024.
In these last weeks we hope you can join us in closing out 2024. Attend an event, donate a toy or donate funds. You time, talent and treasure is greatly appreciated.
In 2025, we will commemorate the tenth anniversary of the TURNUPRI Youth Summit + Conference and introduce the MSVL Sunset Concert series that was a successful pilot and second annual Taste of Juneteenth New England. We eagerly anticipate further developments and opportunities to make a positive impact.
Together, we can enrich lives, empower communities, and equip the next generation of leaders.
Have a great and safe holiday season and new year …
